The Small Things In Life

Old couple in Newhaven, Edinburgh

Welcome to my blog! Tonecas starts an English version now with enthusiasm for sharing some adventures (or hilarious stories sometimes, ha ha)

I'd like to begin this post with the desire of a baker, for example, making his own loaf of bread for the first time.

Once upon a time ... a man who was happy enjoying the small things in life, so tiny than no one else would realise:

For example, wandering around the streets and looking at a random person’s smile, who is just walking in front of you, or taking your camera with yourself and start making some pictures of a nice landscape, but small things as well. And, because we are used to those things or places that are around us in our daily routine (like a poster on a wall, a phone box, a dog tied up outside while its owner is having lunch, etc.) and we are in a global society in which there’s rush everywhere, obsessive consumption, continuous and without any rest, it seems there’s no time to worry about people close to us, as your neighbor, for example. In rare cases, people have died in a complete oblivion, and the residents of that building asked by a journalist reply, "Well, it looked like that person was OK, and out of trouble". We have no time, because most of us are sitting on the sofa in front of the TV, watching it for hours and hours, and, actually is the best brainwasher for our society. Then we can’t see what’s going on around us. But, obviously, it’s all right you are fully informed at any time if a tabloid celebrity has broken a fingernail, for example. That is more important, no doubt at all.

I am one of those who loves that Spanish refrain: "You won’t go to bed without learning anything new" or at least what you can try is to spend some time doing something in your spare time, like a hobby, so that the routine becomes a bit more grateful and it won’t seem that the same thing happens every single day.

So I promised to myself to continue this blog that I started when I arrived to this wonderful city some time ago.

A big hug! Thanks for reading!
